Lawn and Garden information

Here is the website address for the Ohio State University-College of Food, Agriculture and Enviromental Science & Agricultural Extension service.

The website offers an extensive library of bulletins on landscaping, gardening and farming techniques.

They offer bulletins on soil testing, seed bed preparation and tilling techniques, drainage, fertilizers, selecting appropriate plants, weed and pest control, water conservation and runoff pollution control, as well as a complete list of vegetables common to the home garden and the specific soil, planting, harvesting and storage techniques.

They also offer extensive information on organic gardening techniques to minimize the use of chemicals for fertilizers or pest control.

one bulletin that may be of great interest to most homeowners is "Control of Obnoxious Weeds"

Another topic that has been discussed in our forum is how to properly manage a compost bed.

That address will take you to the homepage. once at the home page click on the "lawn & garden" or "farm" categories and you will see a list of the topics.

I have downloaded many of the bulletins and burned them on CD's which we use extensively on our little farm.
