tilling clay soil

i need to completely till my back yard... only about 1200 sq feet...

i live in Greenville, SC.. soil is clay..

Can a tiller rented from home depot do the job... i want to plant new grass seed... the yard now has different types of weeds and grasses.. really need to start over.

I also have very clayish soil in my yard.......rented a tiller from Home Depot this spring to till our garden and the machine did a fine job. I rented one of the larger models but not the largest and it did great. Home Depot is the best place around to rent equipment in my opinion.
