Lennox G11 Furnace - How to change filter?

I am confused about changing the Pad D filter in this furnace. There are 2 sides to the pad - on side is denser and seems that it would not allow as much dust to pass through. Which side faces the inside of the furnace?

Hube is an unknown quantity at this point
Tepierce; Welcome to the Forum... Are you sure there is no "air-flow" arrow? Normally the DENSER side will be closest to the INTAKE side of the FAN. Hube

There is an arrow pointing down that says "fan direction". This filter is a large unframed piece of filter that goes around a u-shaped metal screen which slides in and out of the furnace. One side would be closest to the fan and one side would be farthest away.

The arrow should be installed pointing into the fan intake. Hube
