HVAC

We bought a 20 year old house in early May and last night we turned the AC on for the first time and it ran most of the night (there was cold air coming out of the ducts.) However, this morning I noticed that a little bit of water had leaked from the back of the furnace. The AC unit is about 20 yrs old but the furnace is only 4 yrs old, is the problem with the AC or the furnace?

Is water running out of the drain line there on the AC coil on top of the furnace. Is the line clean? Any ice of frost there on the copper lines at the coil. Is the air filter in the furnace new and clean? You have a lot of IFS IFS here first.

As it turns out, the water is leaking from a 1/2" copper pipe that sticks out about 4" located about 3' high at the back of the furnace. However, there is already a PVC pipe that runs from the side of the furnace (which I think is the condensate drain line) to the floor drain. I was going to attach a piece of pvc pipe to the copper pipe and run it to the floor drain. Is it normal to have two drain lines? There is no frost or ice build up and the filter is new and clean.

Thanks for your help!
