Trane Weathertron Heat Pump Tripping Breaker

I have a Trane Weathertron Heat Pump that trips my breaker only when the temperature falls below 18 degrees F and it does this only in the middle of the night. When I reset the breaker after it sets for about 30 minutes, the unit trips the breaker once again after about 10 minutes. The unit will start to work continously after resetting the breaker a few times. What could be causing my unit to trip the breaker only at night when the temperature goes below 18 F? Any suggestions are appreciated! Thanks!

Can it be that the breakers go off when the AUX strip heaters come on.Turn the aux heater strip heaters on in the day and check that out first.

Thanks imeduc for the idea. I'll try it. Could it also be the defroster tripping the breaker being that it's only below 20 degrees when it happens.

LazyPup has a spectacular aura about
There is normally more humidity nearer to 32 and the defrosting should be occurring there as well.

Can be ,but dont think so. Cause it all runs the same for heat or as AC for defrost. Now if you are wire right when you go to defrost the strip heaters should come on so you dont get cold air. So it's like back to the strip heaters can pop the breaker,
