One final Fan Question

Ok...here goes..I have gable vents at both ends of my roof. I will install my new fan at one of these 2 vents. The attic, however, is 2 levels, one about 2 feet higher than the other. The lower level makes up about 70% of the total attic square footage.. The upper level takes up the remaining 30%. Since warm air rises, should I install the fan in the smaller upper portion, or install it in the larger lower area? Thanks so much. This forum has always been a top notch place to get help!
