Bryant Furnace not igniting

When the furnace kicks on, there is a little fan on the exhaust vent that comes on, like it should. The problem is now the burners never ignite. It did this once before, but it "fixed itself" this time it is not. The igniter doesnt get hot either. It just had the on/off valve, igniter glow stick thing, and a couple electronic parts replaced on it less than 3 years ago. It is an older unit, but I would like to get a little more use from it, it it is monetarily feasible. Any suggestions on what I might look at to troubleshoot this issue?

If the surface ignitor (glow stick)does not change resistance it will NOT open the main burner valve. Too much above or below a set point it won't open.
I got one on my kitchen range oven and over time the back terminals somehow loosened up - I was able to tighten them three times but then no more I had to get a new ignitor.

I checked all the connections, and they are all still tight. I am going to look for some sandpaper tomorrow and see if I can sand the metal around where the spark should jump. Not sure that will help, but I think it is worth a shot

out of curiosity....

Would I have to get a special spark igniter to replace it, or might I find a generic one somewhere like lowes?

I just noticed that the inducer motor stays on even when the thermostat is set to the off position. I still never get any spartk, even after some light sanding. I am wondering if the thermostat itself is faulty.
Could this be the problem? The inducer motor will run forever and nothing happens. I have to turn the switch off on the side of the furnace to make it stop.

OK, solved the problem. or at least a symptom of the problem.
I found this page and started going through the process.
http://arnoldservice.com/Troubleshoo...g_Problems.htm
From reading it, it looked like it was a safety switch problem of some kind. So, I started with the ones that were the easiest to get to(it is never them is it?) Then I found a tiny switch. Then I found it on the page, and it stated

So, I felt around in there for a button and "CLICK" it engaged. I turned on the power and heard the sweet sound of the clickety spark.

Back in business!
