TRANE

I have a Trane central unit natural gas. I turned it on heat today and nothing but cold air. I had this same problem last year but wasn't here when the service man came so I didn't get to watch what he did. I know it's something simple.
It has a auto igniter pilot system. I turned off the main breaker trying to reset everything, checked and made sure the gas is on to the unit. I just hate to pay the service man again.

Thanks for any advice

Welcome to the Home Repair Forums

I would have someone turn on the unit and watch for operation!

1) thermostat calls for heat
2) Inducer fan motor starts and checks for proper pressure
3) Igniter heats up
4) Gas valve opens
5) Sensor proves flame
6) Igniter shuts off
7) Blower turns on

On the newer furnaces there is a board that will flash a code that will let you know what to look for (codes are located on the blower door) If it fails! Some where in the sequence of operation the unit is failing a test. Weather it be a pressure test or a flame test!
