Thumbs up Radiant heat.....

WOW! Just installed PEX tube in the 1st flr bath. Took some temperature samples before I turned it on. THe floor was 64*, counter was hovering around 70 or so..not really to uncomfy....after letting the hot water through, the floor jumped to 78*, the counter height was at 74*! And there wsa a 24" layer of very warm air at that area in the basement ceiling! We let that soak for a couple days and today I stuffed some insulation between the floor joists. Wow! AGAIN! it bumped the floor temp to 86/88*! It's around 76* at cabinet height! Am really impressed! I just couldn't bring myself to reinstalling the baseboard heaters after remodeling this bathroom. Threading the PEX was not too much more fun than drilling all those holes, but the payoff now is fantastic!
