Kerosene torpedo heater flameout

I've bought a used reddy150K torpedo.
It works great for bout 5-8min then flames out until the
safety pops. I've cleaned the plug and replaced the photocell.
Even with those 2 things it still does it.

There was kersoene in it when i got it -- not sure how long
it was there -- thinkin atm that the fuel in it may be causing
some of the trouble. Any ideas?

the photocell has to be aimed at the outer cone of the nozzle so it detects the uv off the flame. the spark plug has to be firing continuously or it won't work. I used to work on these heaters when I worked for a guy that crushed cars. His road crews used the heaters. Also the pump works off the blower and uses a negative pressure to suck fuel out of the tank.
