dryer vent

I think I'm having trouble with my dryer vent. I've replace 3 dryers because of this problem. Here is my problem, the vent runs about 8 feet up one wall and 7 feet across the ceiling. I think the condensation is causing the element to burn out. The only other option I have is to run the vent out through the window which is above the dryer. What is the easiest way to do this? Do the sell window screens that has the vent installed on them?

Thanks for your input.

Have you cleaned out the vent? I have the same type of installation and it gets pretty plugged up after awhile.
If you have a window right over the dryer, why don't you punch a hole through that wall to vent the dryer outside?

Hube is an unknown quantity at this point
If you think that condensation (I doubt it) is causing the element to burn out, Why don't you wrap insulation around the vent pipe, and it will not condensate. .Or ,if you want to do it the EASY way,go out the window. If you don't want to use the whole window , cut the pane approx 6" shorter in width to allow a metal plate with an attached channel (T bar. That way you still have most of the window for light. Or, like JOE said, just punch a hole in the wall.. Good luck, Hube
