S8610U Universal Intermittent Pilot

I am replacing a S86E universal Pilot with a S8610u and cant get it to fire. The S8610U has jumpers for sensers and the S86E does not do I have to install a new senser? And how does the Igniter-sensor work can it realy sence flame with just one conection?

is your control circuit 24 volt? white rodgers makes a gas ignitor control and has connections for the main valve, a spark gap and a flame sense wire.
