thermostat replacement

I am looking for a replacement (inexpensive) thermostat for my home. The current one is a LUX. It is unreliable and I don't trust it. Sometimes it turns on the heater or air but the fan doesn't run and other not so funny things. Removing and replacing the battery does a temporary fix.[?]
I bought a Honeywell from Wal Mart but I guess I misread the package because it doesn't work properly either. The fan doesn't come on in heat mode (AC works OK tho). It's a model CT41A. Apparently it wasn't made for electric central heaters which I have. The store didn't have one for this system and I wasn't able to locate a Honeywell device on their site.

Re-read the instructions. It should tell you how to make it work. There is either going to be a switch, wire, or jumper you need to move in order to make it work.
