Armstrong Air

Any opinions on quality/durability of hot air furnaces by Armstrong Air?

I wouldn't put one on a dog house. Seriously, Armstrong is builder grade junk. The local contractors use them on the housing tracts in my area and they are junk. Consumer reports rates American Standard as #1, Trane is the same brand, just a different name for marketing.
Stay away from Goodman, Armstrong, Tempstar, Janitrol, Lennox. Good brands would include Amer. Stnd, Trane, Rheem, Ruud, Carrier. Ask for quotes that include a ten year parts AND labor warranty.
The companies I name have 90% furnaces as well as 80% two stage, just depends on how much you want to spend......Scott
