Gasline advice...

THis request is for my son. He has a gas furnace for his garage which is about 200' from his house. He did the figuring as to the size requirements of the unit and the feed line size and such but is stumped as to what to use for the feed line. It should be buried, but what to use? What are the choices? Black pipe...(rust away in the ground?) Copper..(expensive!), flexible plastic gas line (VERY expensive, including fittings). Are there any other choices? What's the best route?
Thanks in advance.
