Unhappy Nortron Furnace question

We recently purchased a newer home which has a Nortron Furnace. There is a vent which runs to the outside of the house and allows cold outside air to enter the furnace. Currently it is causing condensation along the vent pipe which drips on our floor. My question is: Is this normal and what would be the function of the cold air?

That vent is providing combustion air for the burner. You could prevent the condensation by installing insulation on the pipe.

Thanks, we wondered if that was why, but not knowing anything about Electric furnaces, thought we should make sure. We will be covering the pipe with insulation.

Once again, Thanks for the info
