My Heat Pump was installed on a plastic / Nylon ground plate that rests directly on clay soil 7 years ago.. Over the years, the base has settled into the clay on the edge nearest the house causing a noticable tilt in the Heat Pump Unit itself. I have shimmed up the back side of the heat pump to keep it level but this is not a permanent solution.. Is it feasable to jack the pump up a few inches (I can do that without breaking the refrigerant lines that enter the house), then dig out under the unit and pour a concrete slab.. or does anybody have any other ideas on how to level the plastic base without removing the entire unit and having to have it reconnected again? I am fishing for ideas and/or ideas for this project.. I have attached a picture of what I am talking about.
yeah you could jack it up a touch. chances are the suction line is 1/2" tubing and is sort of flexible, the high side maybe 3/8" soft drawn copper tubing. loosen any clips you find external of where the tubes go into the house and jack up a little at a time. the joints are silver brazed so popping a fitting isn't apt to happen. just don't kink any tubes.
