JDCam is an unknown quantity at this point
Ventilation needed?

I am building a new mudroom into our garage space. Our winters are cold (Canada), and we need space for wet winter jackets, gloves, dogs.. to hang and dry.

The room is about 5x7 and built off of the existing exterior door into the garage. A new exterior door has been added leading into the garage. I am installing a convection heater to provide heat. There are currently no other windows or vents. In theory the room is air tight. I am about to hang the drywall, but have stopped as I realize I need some type of air circulation in this space. (Drawing attached)

I was considering adding a bathroom exhaust fan into the ceiling, and a grill through the wall into the garage. This might add circulation but will exhaust my heat and pull in cold air.

Looking for ideas here.. The wall into the house, is not only concrete block behind stud wall, it also is the main enterance way into the house. Extending the HVAC would be a massive job and trying to avoid this.

would two simple grills (high and low), with no exhaust fan suffice?

I don't think you'd need any kind of circulation within. with a convection heater you'll get some circulation and with the amount of times the outside door is opened and closed will more than help to un stratify non moving air.

If your worried about the circulation add a vent/grill into the door that enters into the main house. The vent/grill wouldn't need to be all that big either, around 4x10 would give plenty of exchange air.
