Why the 12" minimum length on what can be cut and threaded in the field?
I have frequently done smaller than that length.

Yes that is correct and what I would use for short length work.
I haven't checked how short I can thread before I have to use the nipple chuck on my machine but I do know it is quite a bit smaller than 12"
I was just wondering why Lazypup would say the minimum length that could be threaded in the field is 12"

all rigid machines have a nipple chuck which will thread close nipples so your thread isn't anything new. thanks anyway.
