Painting a Metal Roof?

Hello, we just purchased a house with at "50-100 year" metal roof, it is probably 10 years old. We would like to repaint the house, but the roof color is a light blue. So we would also like to paint that. My question is, is it possible to paint metal roof? I am not sure of the terminology, but this is one of those roofs that has the individual metal shingles on it.

Quite possibly - the lady next door has a metal roof which she got painted a beige color. I asked the contractor what he was using - he said a two part epoxy automotive finish. His guys spray painted the entire roof with two coats and a final of clear coat acryllic.
