Siding over brick

Our house is old style siding. In the front of the front of house there is brick on the bottom half. We plan to re-side the house and hate the look of the brick. I'm wondering if it's possible to put siding over the brick? Has anyone ever done this? Thanks for your suggestions

Sure, you just need to apply furring strips to create a level nailable surface.
