brickface

Bought a store ad will be renting .the front has brick face...kinda crappy. we thought of painting it...i seen articles on that's stupid to ruin brick. as opposed to refacing or painting...whats best? whats more cost effective? any input would be great.

It is necessary to ground a surface before painting.
