Black iron Pipe

I have seen black iron pipe used for natural gas supply lines, now how long will it last in the ground, most is exposed above ground but some is buried about a foot down.

Not very long.
Black pipe is no longer used for outdoor gas at all.
Green coated pipe is the norm.
Black pipe just rusts too easily.
Underground it will rust and corrode even faster.

Did you ever see OHM'S mother in LAW?...... SHOCKING!
