Garbage Disposal Backup
Has anyone ever heard of a Garbage Disposal causing a backup?.. I recently replaced an old disposal with a Badger 1/3 horse and am having this issue. I didnt have this problem before. I plunged, tried chemicals, send a snake thru the J Trap...nothing seems to be apparent. I live on the 15 floor of a condo building that is over 30 yrs old. Could be anything! Any suggestions?

Badger 1/3 HP is the cheapest you can get. Under ideal situations it works so-so.
In a 30 year old building it's probably just plugging up the old drain line.
I'd recommend a complete professional drain cleaning and a 3/4 HP disposal.
Did you ever see OHM'S mother in LAW?...... SHOCKING!

I am having the same problem. 1950s home, put in new Badger disposal. Used several liquid clog removers, used an auger to snake the pipes. There were no clogs. Even went through other pipes that lead into the sink's pipe, no clogs.
The water drains very slow. When the disposal runs the water drains faster because the disposal is forcing the water down.
I have a single bowel sink. Could there be a problem getting air to the pipe?
