PEX Crimping

Happy T-g to all.
I just bought a new Zurn 1/2" PEX crimper and checked the included crimped ring with the go-nogo gauge; it showed the adjustment was correct. I've made a dozen crimps so far today and every one is slightly oval--i.e., gauge test is go on one side of the ring, but when I rotate and try the gauge elsewhere on the ring, the gauge doesn't go on easily. I have made each crimp with the tool perpendicular to the PEX length that I'm working with. I can't visually see anything wrong with the tool when it's in the closed position. Any ideas what's going on? Are these "oval" crimps that I've made okay?

I have and used several pair that I own and had not noticed any ovaling. If it were me, I'd crimp a ring without being on a pipe, take it out and check it. If it is not oval, it has to be the way you are crimping, if it is oval, then I would look closer at the crimping tool. I do know if I check my crimps with the Go-Nogo guage I can get it on one side but not the other (Not because of oval, but rather a beveled slope) but have never had problems. As far as if yours are ok, just apply air to the line to what ever the working pressure is. I always pump mine to 100 lbs.
