Insinkerator 333ss noisy garbage disposal

I have a noisy disposal that sounds like a spoon was left inside. When I feel inside the metal plate that has the grinder (teeth?) rocks back and forth. It feels like the bearings are shot or something let go. Is this repairable. The unit is 15 years old but I may only use it once or twice a week. thanks- mike

I have heard of people successfully repairing a disposal but generally it is considered that the cost of parts and labor would far outweigh the actual value of the unit. For that reason very few supply houses even bother to carry any parts so repairing one can be a real challenge to find the parts.

If your unit if 15 years old it would be far more cost effective to replace it
