what size hole saw -- PVC ??

I need to drill holes for 1 and 1/2" and 1 and 1/4" schedule 40 DWV PVC.

What size hole saws do I need? They are available in 1/16" increments.

Thanks.

Per ASTM (American Society of Testing & Materials) standard the outside diameter of 1-1/4" PVC pipe is 1.660" (1-3/4") and 1-1/2" PVC is 1.900" (slightly under 2")

Before drilling holes for your pipes check your local codes very carefully because the codes are quite specific regarding notching and boring studs, rafters or floor joists. Per pluminb codes, Trusses or manufactured beams may not be notched or bored without the expressed written approval of the truss mfg.
