Toilet Help

Hi. I posted this before and nobody answered. I think I wrote my question poorly. Hopefully I can make it clearer. Our new Toto toilet flushes with way too much force. It seems that when the flapper opens, it makes a complete flush in about 2 seconds, causing water to shoot up from the bowl and onto the toilet seat, floor, etc. This is of course pretty disgusting. Is there any way to reduce how fast the water goes from the tank to the bowl? Thanks in advance.

I'm not an expert, but it sounds like you have too much water in the tank causing a lot of pressure. I would think that you could adjust the fill valve to stop filling sooner and lower the total amount of water in the tank, and thus the pressure.
