vent location and pipe size

Hi - I'm connecting a new sink and toilet to some existing plumbing. Is there a maximum distance the new connectons should be from the vents and should the vent be before or after where the new pipe enters the system? I currently have a main vent of 4 inches and others are 2 inches. Thank you in advance!

Best Regards

Rob

Jimmer is an unknown quantity at this point
Rob,

I have seen limits of anywhere for no more than 36" from the trap to a vent up to 59". If you need to have a horizontal run in your vent piping it has to be above your highest fixture it serves.

The vent is normally straight up from your last fixture or just down stream from it.

If you can draw out for us the new bathroom fixtures with the distances and location of current plumbing lines I'm sure that we can give you some more specific suggestions.

Good luck, Jim
