Bathroom tub faucet leaking

The faucet in our brand new home is leaking. It has just started. It is the type where you turn it all the way to the left for hot water and ease it back to the right to adjust for temp. All the way right turns it off. But it has a slow drip when off. Where do I start? I assume this should be covered in some sort of warranty from the builder?

Thanks in advance

Glen

This is a new home so...

It should be covered under warranty

Or if you want to DIY (keep in mind potential voiding of warranty) then…

Sometimes when copper is sweat fitted little bits of solder are eventually dispersed into the flow and end up in the valve, thus not allowing it to close completely.

You can turn off the supply, remove the valve and inspect for debris and/or a malformed gasket/o-ring. Clean or replace as necessary
