check valve question

I cannot get our sump pump drainage pipe connection at the check valve to stop leaking. Its an ABS pipe fitted to a soft rubber check valve secured with a hose clamp. There is enough gravity in the remaining water to leak out around the fitting slowly. Is there a way bond the ABS pipe with the soft rubber check valve material? Thanks

If the pipe and the check valve are both the same size you should have no problem getting a tight seal by just tightening the clamps. If there is a size mis-match there is no way you will get a tight seal.
