No hot water

The hot water has suddenly stopped.

My system is gas and I have gas to the house.

The unit is in the attic.

What troubleshooting steps should I take?

Roger

If you are in Texas....or any other blistering hot location, there is a known problem with gas pilot lights on water heaters in the attic:

Thanks, 596.

That was the problem and I never would have guessed it was so simple.

The pilot light was out again this morning so I'll have to re-light it, but at least I know there is a simple (and cheap) solution.

Maybe I should think about lowering the heat level in my roof area by upgrading the vents or something.

Roger
