Shower Pan

We moved in our house 4 years ago. When purchased the previous owner said he had to replace floors on the bedroom near the bathroom, cause he said the shower pan had a leak. We havent used this shower cause there might be a leak. Is there anyway to check if it has a leak? Where do i look for the leak? Please help!!!
