Kitchen in Basement

I want to install a kitchen in my basement and the location I have chosen is going to be under one of the bedrooms. Is this a dangerous thing and is it up to code to place a kitchen under a basement. I have noticed with other homes that the kitchen is usually under the kitchen upstairs. Is this becuase the plumbing and venting is easily accesible becuase the fixtures drain downstairs or is it done this way for safety?

Thanks.

LazyPup is on a distinguished road
Placing a kitchen in a basement under a bedroom on the ground floor would be no different from placing a kitchen on the ground floor under a bedroom on a second floor.
