driveway sealcoating

Wanted to get my driveway sealcoated and was wondering if it was an easy do it yourself project. Have seen the cans of stuff at Home Depot and doesn't look so hard but looks pretty messy. Anyone tried it themselves and how did it come out? It is a cheap job to contract but couldn't get anyone this weekend. Thanks for any input

My 70 year old neighbor did it

Seriously. Are you doing an asphalt driveway? She spent about a week, put down the patching herself. Then did two coats of some do it yourselfer asphalt coating. She only worked in the cool mornings for a few hours, but it looks great. How hard can it be?
