Arrow Huge Project with Pictures

Hi all

I recently purchased a 3 story fixer-upper house that was abandoned for 5 years after the homeowner had deceased.

The house was bruglarized and the copper waterlines were stolen along with the refrigerator (which the contents were dumped on the kitchen floor to rot), range, and water heater. Not to mention the house was ransacked by jerks looking for valuables.

the house is suprizingly structurally sound. I found a little water damage in one room.

Below are some pictures of the HUGE task at hand.

This photo is what the rear yard looked like. Believe it or not, there is a house behind the jungle.

This is looking at the back yard from the rear porch. (I was using a power inverter on the battery to power some power tools!!)

Here is where the thievs broke in. They kicked down the basement door and broke the jam. I have recently built a new bulkhead door

Here is the kitchen. They trashed it.

Well, more pics to come... got to get back to work!

Matthew, House doesn't look too bad from what I looked at and from the job you've done cutting down the jungle looks like you got the stamina and fortitude to march foward.
Water damage will be the big thing you will want to look for...not so much a plumbing leak but outside water getting in.
Plumbing can be fixed or replaced with time and $$$.
Looks by the style of cabinets that the Kitchen was done about the early 60's so an up-grade was probably due anyway.
Clear out one room at a time and have at it.
I love these projects because if I get tired of doing one type of job there is always another type that I can jump on for a while.
Gerry....Good Luck

Update

Hi all,

Havent been on in a while, just waiting for some legal red tape and such to be cut.

I have got the yard almost completely rid of brush and trees. I have started to clean all the crap in the house up. I work during the day, and daylight is only now starting to go past 5:30pm, so now I woill be able to get more done on the inside.

I will keep in touch, and post more updates later!
