Jose is an unknown quantity at this point
addition to shed

I have a 16 x 18 ft. storage building built with roof trusses. I want to add space on the gable side. Pitch is 6/12. Roof is covered with asphalt shingles. How do I frame the new roof for the addition to the existing truss-framed roof?

I assume you are going to use rafters for your new section not roof trusses ?

You will have to remove any soffit, overhang, siding material and roofing material back to the truss face. Ideally you would also cut the roof sheathing back to flush with the existing roof truss.

Your first set of rafters should be nailed to the last roof truss with the ridge beam in between the rafters, from here you would proceed as normal for a rafter built roof.
