Laminate sheet countertop

Can a laminate sheet counter be installed around a column with only one seam?? I'm told it cannot. I thought a seam and hole could be cut where the column is and it wrap around the column.

Thanks.

you probably can by using one seam into a circular cutout but your alignment and position MUST BE 100% accurate - contact cement is not a forgiving adhesive.

Your problem is going to be bending the laminate to open the cut enough to slide past the post, depending on the size of the post I doubt you can do it.
Laminate is "reasonably" ( I use that word carefully...lol) flexible it's difficulty comes in that it doesn't give you any warning at all before it breaks....it bends...bends....bends.....snaps !!!

Bending laminate....

The larger the diameter the easier it is. The biggest helper is to get the laminate real nice and warm.
