  • Where 2 buy parts?

I'm working on a Akai AA-1010 stereo receiver that was given to me. It has a staticky sound to it and through my research it sounds like a power problem. I haven't found any filters or capacitors that are bulging so I think it is the power transformer.

Where do you buy parts for stereo receivers?

    Respects,

if it was the power transformer then NOTHING would work! Static-y sound is usually a bad ground, a loose shield, a bad solder joint.
Bulging capacitors are a good sign that they have failed but that's only if they've shorted and created enough gas inside to explode. An open wouldn't give you any sign.
For parts several places have it: Newark electronics, Mouser electronics, Allied electronics, All electronics dot com [surplus parts]
