If you have a confirmed problem with your Monitor main circuit board, there is another solution out there. Monitor has charged over $400 for a main board for a long time. The boards are very susceptible to bad power and should be protected with a line conditioner. A simple surge protector is a minimum protection device.
You do have a choice now in Mathis Electronics, Inc., 102A Caribou Rd. Box 5871, Asheville, NC 28813. Their phone number is 828-274-5928. Mathis has been fixing Monitor boards for well over 15 years now. They state they can fix all models of Monitor circuit boards. My board was off a M2400. It was fixed within 10 days and cost $120, which included shipping.
This is a welcome choice, particularly for the M422, M441 and newer M2200 and M2400. These boards have almost all features on the main board. Anything goes wrong with the circuitry and you are done.
