  • Leaves covering basement stairs drain

Our basement can be accessed through steps leading down from our back yard. A lot of water collects on that bottom landing, and unfortunately so do leaves. We are periodically away from the house for a week at a time, and also don't go to the back of the house so often.

I would love to find some sort of dome or cover to prevent leaves from completely blocking this drain even if it goes neglected for a week. I have been searching all over, and cannot find a product to do that.

    Help!

That is a common problem, bout the only option you have is to either buy a stairwell cover or build one yourself.
Here are a couple of pre made products to look at

ClamDoor: The New Alternative in Bulkheads. :: Inspired by Nature. Crafted to Weather the Elements.

    Bilco Website

It would be a fairly easy DIY to make one of your own, to allow light in (if needed) you could cover it in polycarbonate that is available in a variety of colors.
