  • How do you find a hydraulic engineer (in New jersey)

    Hi -

I'm not sure where this would fit in the forums. My aunt has a 5 yo shore home in NJ. The house has been plagued with water issues. Every time it rains, the garage floods as well as the elevator area.

I thought that it would be easy to search for "Hydraulic engineers" and find someone who could deal with the whole system - gutters, retention basins, grading, raising the garage floor etc. However, I couldn't seem to find what I was looking for.

I think she needs someone who really understands the dynamics of water flow and ground water pressure (the water table on the island is literally about 6" under the pavers and the property is about 3' above mean high water.

Who would be best to contact?? Architect, civil engineer, other???

    thanks

    chris
