I have an Overhead Door 1000A opener. It has worked flawlessly for ever.It just started acting up.When you push the operating button on the wall or use the remote it would go up about 3 feet and stop. Push the button again ---nothing.Let it sit for a while and hit the button again it would go up some more and quit again.Push the button again---Nothing. Let it sit for a spell and hit it again it would go up a bit more.
Called the company I bought it from, they came,said the springs at the top of the door were weak.Cranked some more tension on them.Door seemed to work fine for about a week then the same problem. The springs seem to be adjusted fine when you disconect the door from the opener. It rolls up with little effort.
Called them again they came,no answers.Wanted to sell me a new opener.
Can any one point me in the right direction as to what is wrong here? I am convinced it can be repaired.
