  • remote is dead

I have an older GENIE trac drive 250. It has a key pad on the outside of the garage and is connected to a sears push button unit on the inside of garage by the way of a ribbon wire. It stopped working so I put new battery in unit and still not working. So I am thinking it is dead. My question is can I connect a wireless remote and how do I do it. I cannot find the button to push on the outside of the control head. Thanks

I don't know if you got your problem resolved. But just to let you know there are three keypads and two of the prior ones are obsolete. If you will look inside the keypad and give me the model number. I will be glad to help you out. If you don't have a program button on your operator we will have to find a replacement. I have repaired/replaced a lot of Genies. But, only on rare occasions. Liftmaster and Chamberlain are #1
