  • Water softener timer motor...

I have a Culligan water softener that needs a new timer motor. I did remove the suspicious unit and direct plugged into 120V. It does a quick buzz, then nothing. Each time it's plugged in it gives the same result. I expect it to always be running when directly plugged in. The numbers on the back are 120V/60Hz/3W. M2121. 1/30rpm. LR14686. And encircled letters SA I presume to be the manufacturer. Where can I dig up a motor like this?

Often just the motors for timers are not available separately but if they are, it would likely have to come from Culligan or one of their suppliers. You may need the water softener's model number to trace components for it.

Dan O. is probably right, Culligan is Proprietary and have things made only for them. That way you have to go back for parts. The motor you described resembles Fleck and Autotrol motors, but you can bet there is something different about Culligans that makes it NOT fit.
