  • Minimum Outlet Height Above Countertop?

Does the NEC specify a minimum installation height for outlet receptacles installed in the wall above a kitchen countertop?

doesn't specifically say a fixed height, but rule of thumb is three inches above backsplash. From floor around room - 42 inches up.

Height isn't what's important here, as Haze says, anywhere above the blackslash and below the upper cabinets is ok, Just be sure the faceplate doesn't hit the backsplash when on. What's important though is the placement of the receptacles in a kitchen. There are specific spacing requirements and specific circuit design requirments, including that they must be GFCI protected. Here's a link that'll give you lots of details:

kactus - I wouldn't go any more than three feet between receptacles. I got mine at two feet between receptacles and I'm still looking for plugs! I got separate GFCIs instead of feeding a string via a breaker.
