  • faucet screen clogging repeatedly

    Hi everyone,
My mother's kitchen faucet screen keeps clogging with chalky white debris. It needs to be disassembled and cleaned about every 2 weeks now. None of the other faucets have this problem. The lines under the sink appear to be fine - as in no leaks or apparent problems, but what do I know?

    Any thoughts?

Sounds like the dip tube could be disenigrating. How old is the tank? Here's a link that'll show you how to check the dip tube and lots of other details. The tank could maybe need a flush too.

The same thing happened to me, though it was the shower head and my bathroom faucet instead. For a couple of weeks I had to clean the shower head after every use. Two or three water tank flushes and the problem went away.

Thanks for the replies. That's very interesting. I'll look into that and let you know.
