  • Another shower control knob question

My shower control knob backplate that used to be secured to the shower wall came unsecured, its just hanging away from the wall about an inch. Is this just glued to the shower wall or is there some type of gasket or double stick tape i can put behind the circular plate to make it stick again?
    Thanks

Most of the trim escutcheons have a set screw on the underside that holds them in place. Look for a small dimeter tube that is directly below the shower handle shaft. Some use a small instrument type flat screw driver and some have a hex-key set screw that is tightened with an allen wrench.

You can also apply some Adhesive Tub/Tile caulking on the backside, then press it in place and wipe the excess away. Give the caulking about 6 to 8 hrs to completely set before running water.

Lazypup, There is no set screw under my handle, its a kohler brand. Guess i will just have to caulk it. Thanks
