Connecting metal to CPVC

What is the preferred method for joining a boiler valve to cpvc pipe?
Does the adapter where the threade end has a rubber gasket work well?
I have seen valves with compression fittings used for sink valves and it seems to work well. Thoughts?

I prefer to use a valve with a female thread and attach the CPVC by means of a CPVC male thread adapter.
