  • furnace pilot won't stay on

My furnace pilot flame is having problem staying on.
I would light it and turn it to "on" like I normally did. I would set the thermostat, the heater activates, and everything seems to work fine. Then usually after a couple cycles, the pilot would go out. I tried re-lighting the pilot several times, and it always goes out after a short while. This has been going on for the past 3 days. Is there something simple I can try to fix on my own before I call in the professionals?

Welcome to the Home Repair Forums

I would say you have a bad thermocouple. Get one the same size as yours and replace it. It's real easy to do.
